まずは私がNEK!になる前、私の音楽ルーツについてです！
私の家は音楽一家で、父はベーシスト、母はアコーディオンを弾いたり歌っていたりします。
小さい頃から父のライブを見に行ったり、家や車でも常にCDが流れている環境でしたが、自分もプレイヤーになりたいという気持ちが当時はなかったので、今の自分には私自身も驚いています。
音楽に対する自我が芽生えたのは、小学生の頃に太鼓の達人にハマったのがきっかけです。
それで今でも大好きなボカロに出会ったので、今思い返すと常に音楽に触れていた幼少期でした。
ドラムのここちゃんだけでなく、実は私もダンスを習ったこともあったりして…ものすごく短期間だけど。笑
ずっと音楽に触れていながらも、まったくプレイヤーになる気のなかった、そんな私が！

First, I will talk about my musical roots and my life before joining NEK!!
I come from a musical family; my dad is a bassist, and my mom plays the accordion and sings.
Since I was little, I would go see my dad's live shows, and I grew up in an environment where CDs were always playing at home and in the car. However, I didn't have any desire to become a musician myself back then, so even I am surprised by where I am today.
My personal interest in music was sparked when I got hooked on Taiko no Tatsujin during elementary school.
That is also how I discovered Vocaloid, which I still love today, so looking back, my childhood was constantly surrounded by music.
It is not just our drummer Coco-chan, I actually took dance lessons too... although only for a very short time. (laughs)
Despite always being around music, I had absolutely no intention of becoming a musician, and yet...!

The reason I started playing the bass was TAIJI, the bassist of X JAPAN.
My dad had me listen to their album BLUE BLOOD. Thanks to him, I already had a habit of listening closely to basslines, but when I heard TAIJI's cool bass playing, it was the first time I strongly felt, "I want to play this phrase too!" So, I borrowed my dad's bass and started playing.
The first song I ever learned to play was "WEEK END"!
Then, while covering various songs with cool bass parts, I discovered Gacharic Spin. Influenced by F Chopper KOGA, my playing style evolved into how I play in NEK! today.
She has also been a massive influence on my stage performance!

周りに楽器をやっている子がおらず、家で一人ひっそりと弾いていた私ですが、高校生になりSNSをはじめて、弾いてみた動画を投稿したり、メン募してる女の子とコンタクトを取って会ってみたり、バンドのベーシストオーディションに参加したりなどしていました。その中で、HikaちゃんにXのDMで声を掛けてもらって、NEK!のメンバーになりました！
Since there was no one around me who played an instrument, I used to just quietly play by myself at home. But once I got into high school, I started using social media. I began posting bass cover videos, contacting and meeting up with girls who were looking for bandmates, and participating in bassist auditions. During that time, Hika-chan reached out to me via a direct message on X, and I became a member of NEK!

From February, when this column started, through April, NEK! went on our first nationwide tour. Then, on June 10th, we made our major debut, and right now, as I am writing this column, I am right in the middle of the "NEK! MAJOR DEBUT TOUR"!
On September 2nd, we also released our 1st major EP, "B!NARY". Has everyone had a chance to listen to it yet?
The recorded tracks sound super cool, of course!
But the EP also includes songs that we can all have fun with together at our live shows, so I hope to enjoy these new tracks with as many of you as possible!

｢B!NARY｣の制作は前回の全国ツアー中から6月くらいにしていて、レコーディングして、ツアーして、ツアー終わってまたレコーディングして…というバンド漬けな日々を送っていました。
正直大変だなと思ったこともあったけど、いつも応援してくれているみなさんからのパワーのおかげで、とても良い楽曲達を生み出せたなと感じています。
ベースの聴きどころも満載なので、色んなポイントに注目して聴いて欲しいです！

We worked on producing "B!NARY" from during our previous nationwide tour up until around June. We spent our days completely immersed in the band: recording, touring, finishing the tour, and then recording again...
Honestly, there were times when it felt really tough, but thanks to the energy from everyone who always supports us, I feel like we were able to create some truly great songs.
It is packed with standout bass parts too, so I hope you pay attention to all the different details when you listen!
